Thank you for being a part of the pilot year of The Neighborhood @ Central Synagogue. The Neighborhood is a true online community, where engagement and participation happen virtually and is designed to primarily serve those who are outside of the New York metropolitan area. When we started this community last year, we had no idea that so many of you would embrace this idea so thoroughly. Your participation has made the Neighborhood what it is today.
We are now moving into our second year and asking you to renew as Neighbors. Many of you have shared with us how much the Neighborhood has brought to your lives and deepened your engagement with Judaism and each other. We look forward to having you as Neighbors again. If you’ve been a less frequent participant, we hope that you will choose to engage with us more often this year and will join us on our new platform. That is where all Neighborhood information and communications will live, and you’ll receive an invitation to join once you complete the renewal process.
Please contact Carolyn Roesler at roeslerc@censyn.org for your personalized renewal form.
If you joined the Neighborhood last year to show your support for this new community but do not care to be an active participant, we appreciate your thoughtfulness. The best way to support the Neighborhood in such cases is to support Central Synagogue generally. Donations can be made here.
This website and our Facebook group will be phased out at the end of June and communications will be moved to our new home online.
If we can answer any questions, please email Carolyn. We’re very excited about the coming year in the Neighborhood and can’t wait to share it with you.

Never miss a beat with links to our livestream broadcast schedule, siddurim (prayer books), Orders of Service, and study sheets for Saturday mornings.
Join us for a celebration of Shabbat each Friday night at 6 p.m. Eastern.
This weekly intimate, musical, and participatory service features a deeper dive into the Shabbat morning prayers. Using Mishkan T’filah as our guide, we will explore different modes of prayer, using both traditional and new music, readings, and prayer practices. Each service will offer the opportunity for Torah study. Join with an open, supportive community to “unplug,” reflect, learn and find new meaning in tradition.
Upcoming dates:
5/28/2022
6/18/2022; 6/25/2022
